On July 21st, the first term of the lecture of Longquan special industry development & culture promotion officially starts. Li Gang, the adjunct professor of the department of cultural relics of Zhejiang University and the cultural relics centre of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, who was once the deputy curator of Zhejiang Provincial Museum, delivered the lecture ‘The Charm of the Ancient Celadon’. Over 200 adorers of celadon in the city attended the lecture.
Professor Li Gang introduced the celadon from both historical and cultural perspective in the lecture, and also depicted the methods of celadon appreciation and evaluation, etc. The audience expressed their gratitude and introduced their benefits. Professor Li Gang has been giving lessons to the ‘National Ancient Ceramic Study and Appreciation Promotion Class’ in the Yangzhou Training Centre of National Bureau of Cultural Relics, and he has published dozens of articles and essays concerning ancient ceramic and the dissemination of Buddhism, etc. The experience in the art circle he has acquired over the years, together with his forward art vision, is extremely important in the cultivation of the celadon talents in Longquan; it is also an encouragement as well as a motivation to the ceramics craftsmen in Longquan.
The lecture of Longquan special industry development & culture promotion is an activity for talents co-sponsored by the propaganda department of municipal Party committee, municipal bureau of human resources and social security and municipal talents association. The activity aims to promote the traditional special industry of sword and ceramics in Longquan to further development, together with other industries such as hardware and auto parts, bamboo processing as well as e-commerce, etc.; it aims to comprehensively promote the popularization of special industrial culture, and to concentrate on the cultivation of talents in special industries.
