September 28th was the anniversary of the birthday of Confucius. 571 people including the ninth-grade students and staff in Chengbei junior high school of Jingning carried out the worship of Confucius in Jingning Confucian Temple, the provincial key cultural relics protection units. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the educational activity themed ‘Respecting Teachers and Talents·Striving to be Stronger’ was also held here. These were another series of key activities popularizing Confucian culture after the free sinology education course of Disciple Gauge in summer holiday, and the entrance ceremony of the first-grade students in Jingning senior high school.
At the beginning of the semester, Chengbei junior high carried out the activities in order to improve the sense of responsibility and mission of the ninth-grade students and staff, encourage all students to respect teachers and talents, learn the etiquette and be independent, shoulder heavy burdens and responsibilities and be hard-wording, creating a brilliant beginning of the term. With the support and coordination of County Cultural Relics Protection and Management Office, Chengbei junior high decided to adopt the method of worshiping Confucius and respecting the teacher to carry out the entrance ceremony of the ninth grade. Through worshiping Confucius, the school aimed to improve the comprehensive quality of both teachers and students. For teacher, in their education of the students, they should inherit and employ the educational concepts of Confucius in practices; in their self-cultivation, they should ‘improve morality and develop career’ and ‘be kind to others’; in their work, they should be ‘be so immersed in work as to forget one’s meals, and seek pleasure in order to free themselves from care’, and they should also be ‘study tirelessly, and teach tirelessly’. For students, they should establish respectful hearts, respect the teachers and relatives, learnt the gratitude, love reading, learn studying, be positive and active, and strive to be stronger.
