The 5th ‘Planet Cup’ China International Checkers Open, Together With the 8th ‘Planet Cup’ National Checkers Open, was Unveiled

  During recent years, international checkers has been rooted and growing in Lishui, the first ‘Hometown of International Checkers in China’. In the morning of November 16th, the 5th ‘Planet Cup’ China International Checkers Open, together with the 8th ‘Planet Cup’ National Checkers Open, was held in the city.

  The event was sponsored by the China International Checkers Association, Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau, and carried out by Zhejiang Province Intellectual Sports Management Center, Lishui Municipal Government, Lishui Municipal Sports Bureau, Lishui Municipal Education Bureau, and Lishui Star Cheers School. A total of 90 high level checkers players from more than 10 countries such as China, Russia, the Netherlands and Suriname participate in the competition for checkers skills.

  The opening ceremony began with the mighty national anthem of China. The leaders and guests attending the ceremony include Ge Feng, Chair of the China International Checkers Association, Batur Den, Chair of Asian International Checkers Association, Lu Caitlin, deputy mayor of Lishui People’s Government, Xia Jinjuan, Secretary General of China International Checkers Association, Mai Zhaoping, director of Zhejiang Intelligence Sports Management Centre, and John Di Masur, director of the World International Checkers Association Youth Contest Committee, etc..

  The games were divided into two groups, namely international open group (100 grid male and female and 100 grid u14 male and female games) and domestic open group (100 grid male and female and 100 grid u14 male and female). The event lasts for 6 days, and 9 little checkers players from Lishui Experimental School, Liandu Youshan Primary School, Liandu Dayang Road Primary School, Liandu Chengbei Primary school, Junyun Ziwei Primary School, Jinyun Second Experimental Primary School will participate in.
