During July 12th and 13th, 2018 Zhejiang Classy Tone & Ancient Taste of Chuzhou --The traditional drama performance of Lishui and the 3rd traditional opera performance of Lishui were held in Laozhu village culture hall of Laodu township, Liandu District, intangible cultural heritage performances such as Qingyuan light songs, Songyang tune, Jingning mushroom farmer drama and other traditional dramas were presented, and have brought a traditional drama feast for people in the rural area.
Chuzhou is one of the birthplace of Nanxi opera. The Songyang Tune formed in Ming Dynasty is the oldest opera in Chuzhou. At the same time, after a long period of exchange and integration, local characteristics are gradually formed and local operas have become the main body of performances, such as Chuzhou freestyle, mushroom farmer drama, Jinyun Wuju opera, Baoshan Huaguxi Opera, and tea lantern show. According to the census conducted in the 1980s, more than 1,500 ancient Ming and Qing stages were built throughout Lishui, providing a vast venue for performing arts in our city. The whole city has become a popular venue for folk opera activities. Traditional drama naturally integrates literature, poetry, dance, martial arts, acrobatics, singing, instrumental music, and fine arts into itself, and has extremely high aesthetic value. It is not only an important part of intangible cultural heritage, but also a treasure of folk arts. With the development of society, great changes have taken place in the existing environment and humanistic atmosphere of traditional drama. Our city has held traditional theatrical performances for three consecutive years.
During the two-day performance, Jingning mushroom folk drama Cai Lou Pei (A Couple in the Colored Building), Songyang Tune Chen Shisi Saving His Brother, Yunhe Huagu drama Big Flower Drum, Suichang tea lantern opera Picking Tea Leaves, Chuzhou freestyle Cai Wende down the mountain, Jinyun drama Riding the Dragon Palace and other excellent performances were staged in turn. Gorgeous stage, beautiful costumes, exaggerated movements, vivid expression of the dramatic characters and the story were presented vividly. The brilliant performance attracted many neighboring villagers, boosting the confidence and momentum to the protection and inheritance of traditional drama in rural areas.
