Set tables and chairs, wash dishes, buy dishes, prepare for the performance... On October 1st, the first day of the National Day holiday, early in the morning, in Shipu Village, Jinshuitan Town, there was already a busy scene. Villagers were orderly preparing a precious reunion meal to welcome travelers live far away to return home for reunion.
"There are many migrant workers and entrepreneurs in our village. Some of them haven't come back for a long time. During the National Day holiday, we want to hold a reunion meal to let the travelers come back to see their hometown." Zhang Lanyou, the main director of the reunion meal, told reporters that the reunion meal has been actively responded by Shipu people from all over the country, and they has returned home for reunion. On a normal day, there were only more than 100 people in the village. On that day, 70 tables were set up and more than 700 villagers returned the village to see the changes and recount the local conditions.
Walking into Shipu Village, I saw all kinds of flowers, such as drunken butterfly, Persian chrysanthemum, lily etc., with fragrance and competing with each other. The winding stone road and Hui style architecture with blue stone and grey bricks make people feel like being in the bustling and prosperous ‘Ancient Town with Boat’ in the old days.
"Years have not been home, the village have undergone earth-shaking changes. The sea of flowers in front of the door is even more surprising. I have never thought about my hometown being such a beautiful scenic spot one day." Zhang Jinfu and his wife have been working outside for many years. In recent years, they haven't been home because of their busy work. This time, they went back to their hometown and witnessed the village developing better and better. The villagers also focused on ecological development and did ecological work, and benefited from tourism, which also made him moved while being happy.
The National Day holiday, in addition to the good time of Shipu village reunion banquet, many Yunhe people who work or manage business outside the hometown, also take advantage of the holiday to visit their relatives. Wu Xin is from Yunhe who now manages his business in Italy, during the National Day this year, he took his family of three back to Yunhe. Looking at the busy fairy-tale blocks of Xinjian Road, and the flashing lights at night above the Fuyun stream, Wu Xin is very touched: "I still remember the year when I left Yunhe. Xinjian road has not been renovated, and the streets of Yunhe are not as clean and bright as they are now, and our Yunhe is getting better and better and more like a fairy-tale city."
